Update and a few new pics

The CX has been great. not riding much (only 1700 miles on it since the build was done). I did decide to wrap the header pipes and switch out the muffler. I used a 1" wrap in black and also coated it with a black silicone spray to protect the wrappings. It took all afternoon to do. The muffler is a 2" "quiet core" cone muffler from DCC. Looks and sounds much better.

  1. Nice build! Where did you order the second seat from?

  2. Thanks James!
The company that made the first seat made the second after I sent detailed dimensions. They now sell this new version from their website. http://www.texavina.com/1978-1982-honda-cx500-deluxe-standard-custom-build-leather-seat-sku-l9061/

    1. Inspiring build. I looked at so many CXs and this the top for me. So well balanced! I looked at Texavina seats but did not find under 9061. I found this instead http://www.texavina.com/24-brat-style-1978-1983-honda-cx500-deluxe-standard-shadow-low-profile-cafe-racer-seat-sku-f2023/ It looks to me exactly like yours. 8.5 x 24 inches is what you put on your beauty?

  4. That appears to be the Mac 2 into 1 exhaust for CX500. If you google that, you should see them. This one has a different muffler though. dimecitycycles.com sells nice "mufflers" that fit perfect.
